I tried the new E.L.F. Cosmetics beauty wands that aim to dupe Charlotte Tilbury

Amazing makeup doesn't need to come at a high price. E.L.F. Cosmetics proves that notion to us all the time with its consistent A+ products. Last week, the affordable cosmetic brand launched the Halo Glow Beauty Wands ($9), which appear to be dupes of the cult-favorite Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wands ($42). As Reviewed's beauty editor, I received a set of three wands—contourblush and highlight—to put to the test.

What I like about the E.L.F. Halo Glow Beauty Wands

I own the contour wand in the shade "Fair Light," the blush in "Rosé You Slay" and the highlight in "Champagne Campaign." I apply the contour shade in the hollows of my cheekbones, along my jawline and on my temples to add definition to my face. The liquid formula blends out easily using a makeup brush and the cool-toned, light shade gives my face a natural-looking sculpted effect. While the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wands are only available in two shades, E.L.F. offers up five shades ranging from very light to deep, which makes it easier to find a color that'll complement your skin tone.

The blush wand's formula blended out just as easily on my cheeks as the contour color. The shimmery pink "Rosé You Slay" shade reminds me of the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Highlighter Wand in the beloved color "Pinkgasm." It gives my skin a luminous, subtle flush that wears well throughout the day. The blush is available in three other shimmery tones, too.

The highlight hue called "Champaign Campaign"—one of three shades available—adds even more glimmer to the skin when I apply it to the tops of my cheekbones and the other high points of my face. The liquid highlight gives a gleam without looking glittery, and it layers well on top of the blush. All together, the wands provide a sculpted, luminous look to my skin with little effort, thanks to the easy-to-blend liquid formula.

What I dislike about the E.L.F. Halo Glow Beauty Wands

My only gripe is with the wands' packaging. To use the wand, you need to squeeze the slim tube until the liquid formula comes through the sponge-tip applicator. While the Charlotte Tilbury wands have the same squeeze mechanism, the tubes have a twist-to-lock mechanism that prevents the makeup from leaking through the sponge. I appreciate that detail in the packaging and wish the E.L.F. wands had it, too, as I can foresee a potential mess.

Are the E.L.F. Halo Glow Beauty Wands dupes for Charlotte Tilbury?

While they're still new to me, I don't hesitate to recommend trying the E.L.F. wands, especially if you've been itching to get your hands on the Charlotte Tilbury ones. Though the two brands' products have slight differences, like their packaging, they provide very similar results on my face. For that reason, I'd say the E.L.F. Halo Glow Beauty Wands are dupes for the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wands.

If you've never tried a liquid contour, blush or highlight before, these are a great way to try the trend. My only advice is to grab these sooner rather than later, as shades are already selling out.
