I’ve loved bikes since I started helping my grandfather in his bike store as a kid. Until recently, it was pedal power all the way, and most of my bike riding was at the weekends for exercise. That changed when I tested the Lectric XP 3.0 e-bike. The XP 3.0 has enough power to haul groceries, handle a long commute, or carry a passenger.
Today, May 30, is National E-Bike Day and Lectric Bikes has a sweet sale going on to help you save 25% on bike batteries and more for your eco-friendly ride. For instance, the Lectric XP Spare Battery typically costs $299 but you can ring up at just $224 during this summer sale.

There’s a lot to like about the XP 3.0. Suddenly, errands where I’d use the car were achievable by bike. This means less gasoline, less cost, and less pollution. I can still get some exercise or just let the motor take over with pedal assist mode. Its hub motor has a peak power of 1000 W and 55 Nm of torque, more than enough to power you up a hill and carry some extra weight. With factory settings, it’ll hit 20 mph, so it’s also no slouch. It’s also got a long range, carrying you up to 20 miles even if you don’t pedal. Last, but not least, the suspension fork and fat tires make for a comfy ride.

The most impressive thing about the XP 3.0 is how sturdy it is. The welded rear rack will hold 150 lbs, so you can add extra cargo baskets or a passenger seat. I just wish I’d had the bike when my kid was smaller. The added child seat would have made it perfect for the school run.
