President Joe Biden officially recognized Juneteenth as a federal holiday last year. The June 19 holiday commemorates the day formerly enslaved people in Texas learned about the Emancipation Proclamation.

Federal employees will have the day off on Monday, June 20. The private sector has followed suit, with many companies offering their employees the day off or holiday pay. But most consumers won’t have to worry about their favorite business being closed on Sunday or Monday. Most of your favorite brand names will be open for business.

While Target added in recent years new closures for holidays like Thanksgiving and Easter, it won’t close its doors Sunday. Target will be open during its regular hours on Sunday, June 19 and Monday, June 20,the company said. Store hours may vary by location so it’s wise to check with your local store.
