What's in a name? Lots, according to this survey
How Americans describe their names:
• More men (46%) than women (36%) say their names are easy to spell.
• More men (28%) than women (18%) say their name has "a family significance."
• More men (17%) than women (9%) say their name has a "cultural or religious significance."
• More women than men say their name is "unique/unusual" (19% vs. 11%), "old-fashioned" (15% vs. 9%) or long (8% vs. 3%)
• People 55 and older are more likely to say their name is "traditional" than those ages 18 to 34 (37% vs. 25%).
• Those 18-to-34 are more likely to say their name "suits me" than those 55 and older (56% vs. 42%).
• Those with an annual household income of $50,000 or more are more likely to say their name is easy to say than those in a household with a lower income (56% vs. 46%).
