The Short List: Michael Brown's dream; Tiger's move; Foley's executor
Michael Brown's stepmother: He dreamed of death and bloody sheets before he died
Michael Brown was laid to rest today. But the controversy over the black teen's fatal shooting by a white cop is far from over. Mourners packed the Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church on Monday for his funeral. The choir sang. The Rev. Al Sharpton preached. Black Panthers chanted outside. Brown's family remembered the teen they adored. Brown's stepmother, Cal Brown, shared that "Mike-Mike," as he was called, had promised to "shake the world." She said he had been dreaming of death and bloody sheets just days before he died. "He pretty much prophesied his own death and didn't realize it," she said. "Mike-Mike is an awesome man. He just wanted to go to college. He wanted to have a family ... but God had different plans."

Ukraine claims Russian tanks in disguise tried to invade another part of their country
This doesn't sound good. Most of the fighting between Ukrainian forces and Russian-backed rebels has gone down in one area of Ukraine. But today Ukraine said Russian military vehicles – disguised with flags to look like separatist rebels – crossed the border into another part of the country, opening up a new battle front in the southeast. Ukraine said it looked like the vehicles were headed for Mariupol, a key government city on the Sea of Azov, but Ukrainian troops stopped them. The purported incident went down one day before Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko are scheduled to meet up in Minsk to talk about the instability in Ukraine. Meanwhile, Poroshenko dissolved Parliament on Monday and called for early elections. Voting is set for Oct. 26.

Docs: Kids shouldn't have to go to school until 8:30 a.m. or later
Kids love to complain. But maybe "I don't want to get up" is a valid one. The nation's largest pediatrician group said in a new policy statement that kids should get to sleep longer. The group said starting high school and middle school classes 8:30 a.m. or later is "an effective countermeasure to chronic sleep loss" and the "epidemic" of delayed, insufficient and erratic sleep patterns among the nation's teens.
