The Short List: White House intruder; Ravens vs. ESPN; celeb nude leak

White House intruder had 800 rounds of ammo, hatchets and a machete

Omar Gonzalez didn't pack light. On Saturday, the Army vet jumped the White House fence and actually made it through the North Portico doors carrying a knife. His car was parked a few blocks away from the president's house with more than 800 rounds of ammo, two hatchets and a machete. Gonzalez will be held in jail for 10 days while authorities work on revoking his bail in another case in which he was arrested on charges of eluding police and possessing a sawed-off shotgun. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Mudd said Gonzalez, who is unemployed and homeless, "is a danger to the president." The Secret Service still has its tail between its legs.

Ravens issue massive point-by-point statement disputing ESPN Rice report

The Ravens are not happy with ESPN. The team released a huge statement Monday to correct what the team says are inaccuracies in an ESPN Outside the Lines story on the team and the league's response to the Ray Rice allegations. Among other things, the Ravens' director of security denied knowing within hours what happened between Rice and his then-fiancée, Janay; coach John Harbaugh denied wanting to cut Rice immediately; and both said Rice told them he slapped Janay with an open hand. Rice was cut two weeks ago, hours after TMZ.com published video of him punching Janay during the February incident at an Atlantic City casino. You can read the entire Ravens statement here.

Afghan soldiers training in U.S. caught near Canada after not returning from mall

It looks like three Afghan soldiers may have wanted off Team Afghanistan. The soldiers from the Afghan National Army were in the U.S. for a two-week training exercise in Cape Cod, Mass. They went on a chaperoned trip to the mall Saturday but never returned to the base that night. On Monday, they were taken into custody while trying to cross into Canada (Team Canuck). Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick said the three didn't appear to pose a threat to the public and may have been trying to defect.

If you don't believe what the Islamic State is preaching, you're on their hit list

If you're a "disbeliever," they want you dead. The Islamic State released a chilling recording telling Muslims to kill Americans, Europeans — especially the "filthy French" — Australians and Canadians. Pretty much anyone who doesn't believe what they believe, which is most of the world. The Islamic State, a breakaway branch of al-Qaeda, has seized control of large parts of Syria and Iraq, prompting the U.S. to launch airstrikes against the militants. They're also the group releasing all the beheading videos.
