1. Pro-democracy protests continue in Hong Kong on China's National Day holiday
Thousands of Hong Kong residents marked China's National Day holiday with another show of defiance toward the city's pro-Beijing government, but there were no immediate signs authorities would try to disperse the pro-democracy demonstrators.
2. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu will meet with President Obama
President Obama renews his sometimes-tense relationship with Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday in a meeting at the White House. While the pair have sometimes been at odds over peace talks with the Palestinians, a main topic of this session will be Obama's plan to roll back the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. Additional topics will include U.S. negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program and the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians.
3. NFL is going pink in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness month
Players, referees and even fields will be looking a little more pink starting Wednesday as NFL teams throughout the league show their support for the fight against breast cancer. After weeks filled with domestic violence scandals, the league's annual month-long event comes at an interesting time, as critics have come out against the NFL for a lack of response to the cases. Professional teams aren't the only ones supporting the cause. The Oregon Ducks recently debuted their pink uniforms.
4. October baseball in full swing
The Kansas City Royals took 12 innings to defeat the Oakland Athletics in a dramatic walk-off 9-8 win that didn't end until midnight had passed and October baseball had officially begun. The National League's one-game wild card match is the next bout among the playoff contenders. It will feature the San Francisco Giants taking on the Pirates in Pittsburgh at 8 p.m. ET.
5. Paramedics, ER staff under Ebola observation in Dallas
Three Dallas Fire-Rescue paramedics and several emergency room workers at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital are off work and under observation after making contact with a patient being treated for Ebola.
