5 things you need to know this weekend
50th anniversary of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer brings back all the feels
It's just not the holiday season without this red-nosed fellow. Rudolph made his television debut 50 year ago on Saturday, airing on NBC in 1964. Although the reindeer is actually 75, he still has a place America's hearts with his gang of misfit toys and elves. Heck, even the postal service thinks he's cool: Rudolph has his own stamp.
Louisiana Senate runoff decides another open seat
Republicans have already clinched the Senate, but Saturday's runoff could make it 54 for the GOP, as Louisiana voters fill their Senate seat. Will Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu keep her spot or will her opponent, Republican Rep. Bill Cassidy, snatch it away? Right now, it seems as if Cassidy will be elected.
The Philippines brace for powerful typhoon
Super Typhoon Hagupit is expected to slam into the island nation late Saturday. More than 30 million people will be impacted by this storm with this tied with two other typhoons from October and November as the strongest storms of the year. Half-a-million people have been evacuated, according to the Weather Channel.

The British are coming, the British are coming. No, really, Will and Kate are coming.
We can't confirm or deny they'll be wearing red coats when they hit the states on Sunday, but both Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton are coming to visit. In their action-packed stay, the couple sets up base in New York— William will take a brief trip to Washington, D.C. — attending charity dinners, a Brooklyn Nets game and the 9/11 Memorial.

The man eaten alive by an anaconda share his slithering story
It's still pretty confusing why Paul Rosolie wanted to be eaten by an anaconda in the first place, but come Sunday you can find out. Discovery Channel special Eaten Alive takes a look inside the belly of the beast — literally and figuratively — following Rosolie's experience. Hint: He survived. It airs at 9 p.m. ET.
