An anti-hipster mob and ridiculous Facebook photos are among the weirdest crime stories of the week:
1. Chatty parrots land owner in court: A pair of parrots in Avalon, N.J., apparently didn't get the memo that the borough would rather they shut their yappers. Birds Edmund and Arthur landed their owner, Elaine Scattergood, in court on a noise citation after police received a complaint in May. Ms. Scattergood had something to say about it.
2: Angry, torch-wielding mob attacks cereal cafe: A raging mob took out its ire against East London hipsters over the weekend by attacking a cafe. But the establishment wasn't just any cafe: It was a cereal cafe. As in, cereal in a bowl. The protesters explained their reasons for the demonstration on a Facebook event page (among them, "Texan oil-money twats"). What they carried was pretty extreme.
3: Man's fashion choices get him busted for burglary: A burglary suspect was busted by Philly police thanks to his bad fashion choices. Kyree Henneghan, 18, was nabbed trying to sell a stolen laptop and tied to two home break-ins. Henneghan's outfit of choice during both thefts, which he admitted committing to police: a Superman shirt and red Chuck Taylor sneakers. You'll laugh at what the local media is now calling him.
4: Cops say bank robbers' Facebook photos did them in: We all expect to see a little braggadocio on Facebook, but one couple may have gone too far. Police in Ohio say their search for a bank robber was made easier when suspect John Mogan and his girlfriend posted photos on Facebook of themselves posing with big wads of ... cash. Some of the poses were over the top.
5. Woman arrested for alleged joyride on living creature: Back in July, photos of two women and an animal went viral on social media; what they were pictured doing led to a flurry of angry complaints to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, which launched a criminal investigation. Now 20-year-old Stephanie Moore has been arrested — and she's charged with "molesting" the reptile she appears to be riding in this picture.
