Reports: 2 die in small jet crash near San Bernardino
Two people died after a small jet crashed at a local airport near San Bernardino, Calif., on Sunday, prompting authorities to close the airport for 24 hours.
The crash took place at Apple Valley Airport around 2:20 p.m. PT, local media reported. The plane was a two-seater Aero L-39 Albatros, a Czechoslovakian-developed jet trainer, KTLA-TV reported. Fire crews extinguished the flames after "multiple explosions" following the crash.
The two victims were not immediately identified.
