Trump assesses options on immigration ban

President Trump is assessing all of his legal options on a proposed travel ban from seven predominantly Muslim countries, with options ranging from appealing to the Supreme Court to revising the executive order that has triggered massive protests, a senior adviser said Sunday. "The bottom line is that we are pursuing every single possible action to keep our country safe from terrorism," policy adviser Stephen Miller told NBC's Meet The Press, in one of a series of appearances on Sunday show interviews.  A panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals blocked enforcement of the Trump travel order affecting those seven countries last week, upholding an earlier decision by a federal judge in Seattle. North Korea fires missile as tensions rise

North Korea fired an unidentified projectile into the sea off its east coast early Sunday local time, the South Korean military reported. The missile flew about 310 miles. Military officials in South Korea are investigating what type of missile it was, the Korean Times reported. The missile launch came as President Trump was hosting Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. Trump and Abe made short statements about the launch in a joint appearance. "I just want everybody to understand and fully know that the United States of America stands behind Japan, its great ally, 100%," Trump said. Abe called the missile launch "absolutely intolerable."

Blizzard threatens New England; snow possible in Texas

A blockbuster snowstorm with blizzard conditions could bring travel to a standstill across parts of the Northeast late Sunday into Monday, just days after another storm pummeled the area. And a separate storm system will drop temperatures 55 degrees in Texas from Saturday to Monday, threatening snow, ice and rain from Amarillo to Lubbock, AccuWeather said. The most snow is expected in coastal New England, along with the maritime provinces of Canada, which could get 1 to 2 feet, according to Alex Sosnowski, an AccuWeather senior meteorologist.

This weekend in Black History Month

Good: Yale University is stripping the name of a 19th-century alumnus who was an ardent supporter of slavery from one of its residential colleges and renaming it for a more recent graduate, pioneering computer scientist and Navy Rear Adm. Grace Murray Hopper.

Not good: The Department of Education on Sunday tweeted a quote about the importance of education from the late W.E.B. Du Bois, the revered historian and civil rights activist who helped found the NAACP, but misspelled his name. This isn't going to help Betsy DeVos, Trump's controversial new Education secretary, win any new fans.

'SNL': Melissa McCarthy is back as Sean Spicer, and Kellyanne Conway goes full 'Fatal Attraction'

Watch out, White House press corps: Spicey's back. Melissa McCarthy answered comedy fans' prayers, rolling back onto the Saturday Night Live stage as the embattled press secretary, complete with a motorized lectern, ready to take the fight right to the front row of the briefing room. And for her riff on Kellyanne Conway, Kate McKinnon channeled Glenn Close's Fatal Attraction character, breaking into the home of her unrequited love, CNN anchor Jake Tapper.

Kevin Durant heckled in return to Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City fans unleashed anger on Kevin Durant during his return to the city Saturday. The Golden State Warriors star, who left Oklahoma after eight seasons back in July, had 34 points and nine rebounds in a 130-114 win at Chesapeake Energy Arena. Signs both clever and tasteless were everywhere, and the boo-birds turned out, as did the creative hecklers. Durant's mother couldn't believe the attacks were so personal.
