Madness begins to take hold in college basketball

A fitting way to take in March Madness comes Saturday with a regular season ACC finale clash between arch rivals No. 14 Duke and No. 5 North Carolina. The Tar Heels, who can clinch the ACC regular season title outright with a win, will surely have payback on their mind after a loss to the Blue Devils on Feb. 9. Tip-off is at 8:15 p.m. Saturday (ESPN). Other games worth watching include Big Ten regular-season champion Purdue visiting this week’s darling, Northwestern, which is likely to garner its first bid to the NCAA tournament, after stunning Michigan on a buzzer-beater Wednesday.  And conference tournaments have already started for some of the smaller leagues, with the best of them happening Sunday in the Missouri Valley final at 1 p.m. (CBS)

Cannabis questionable at cannabis festival

The Moapa Paiute Tribe will host one of the world’s largest marijuana festivals Saturday and Sunday on tribal land outside Las Vegas, even after a U.S. attorney sent a letter saying federal law prohibits use, distribution, possession and transport of marijuana. The Feb. 16 letter cast doubt on the 2017 High Times Cannabis Cup, which will proceed anyway, after it advised vendors and attendees “to comply with applicable law concerning the distribution of cannabis in any amount at the event.” Tribal chairman Darren Daboda said he was not sure whether cannabis would be at the event, but “we’re working on (that) right now.”

One of Hollywood's long traded stories about the battle between larger-than-life movie stars Joan Crawford and Bette Davis gets told Sunday in FX’s Feud: Bette and Joan (10 p.m. ET/PT). Ryan Murphy's latest anthology series — which stars Susan Sarandon as Davis and Jessica Lange as Crawford — opens with the first-time pairing of Crawford and Davis in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?a 1962 horror thriller conceived as a promotional vehicle that emerged as a genre classic. The series itself luxuriates the enticing glamour of Hollywood's golden-age and pulls the curtain back for a startling look at sexism and ageism, which persists in show business today.
