5 things you need to know this weekend
Don't forget dear old dad on Father's Day
Sure, Dad says he doesn't want you to make a fuss over him on Father's Day, but you know better. We can help. Here are some great gifts to treat your dad this Father's Day, including some cool tech upgrades. If Dad isn't a "stuff" kind of guy, consider taking a trip together. Even if your dad is no longer around to celebrate with, he will always hold a special place in your heart. (Here's a Father's Day story that touches all the bases.)
Sailors still missing after U.S. destroyer gets damaged in collision
Rescuers are still searching for seven missing sailors Saturday after a U.S. destroyer collided with a large container ship off the coast of Japan, leaving at least three injured. The Navy said that the collision involving the USS Fitzgerald occurred 56 nautical miles southwest of Yokosuka, which is home to the 7th Fleet. Crew members from the USS Dewey destroyer were helping stabilize the damaged ship. An investigation is underway to determine what caused the collision between the destroyer and the container ship four times its size.
Pop-up library of Trump’s tweets opens in NYC
The Daily Show is hosting a pop-up Twitter Library this weekend featuring framed copies of the President’s headline-grabbing tweets and interactive Twitter-themed exhibits. Trump has frequently come under fire for his tweets, especially his use of the platform to attack everyone from the mainstream media to the mayor of London after a terrorist attack. The free exhibition — located just a block away from Trump Towers — is inspired by the tradition of presidential libraries started by Franklin. D. Roosevelt. Daily Show correspondents say the free exhibition isn’t intended to demean Trump, but rather offers visitors the chance to “to revisit where his mind was at different points over the last six years.”
Controversial Alex Jones interview airs Sunday
Sunday night, NBC’s Megyn Kelly’s interview with Infowars host Alex Jones is scheduled to press on despite controversy and leaked recordings of interactions between the former Fox News star and the conspiracy theorist. The interview, which will debut on Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly, was ridiculed by those who don’t want the network to give Jones a platform to spout his theories, which have included the postulation that the Sandy Hook shooting never happened.

Blimp crash. E. coli. Trump protest. And the U.S. Open.
The U.S. Open in Erin, Wisc., heads into the weekend after a series of non-golf related incidents grabbed the tournament's early headlines. On Thursday, a blimp burst into flames and crashed about a mile from the golf course, the same day health officials found evidence of E. coli bacteria in a hydration station. Officials then said a 94-year-old spectator died during Friday's second round. The competition itself promises to be wide-open — there are 23 players within four shots of the lead — though a high-profile anti-Trump protest will likely raise some eyebrows. The first tee time is at 9:26 a.m. ET on Saturday and Fox's TV coverage starts at 11 a.m. ET.
