Live stream: Amtrak train derailment shuts down Interstate 5 in Washington state


TACOMA, Wa. -- An Amtrak train derailed on Monday causing injuries and shutting down the southbound lanes of Interstate 5. 

Authorities say at least one rail car was left hanging off a bridge over the heavily congested interstate.

"Derailed Amtrak passenger train was heading south bound," the Pierce County Sheriff's Department said in a tweet. "Injuries and casualties reported, numbers to come."

The sheriff's office reports Interstate 5 southbound near Dupont is closed.
