Missing 8-year-old boy found dead in lake near Texas home; no foul play suspected
A missing, nonverbal 8-year-old boy was found deceased in a lake in Texas over the weekend, authorities said.
Ryan Akabusi was last seen in Richmond, a suburb of Houston, on Saturday around 4:30 a.m., according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office and KTRK.
After an Amber Alert was issued, the search efforts, including the use of K9s, began.
On Sunday morning, Ryan's body was found by Texas Equusearch, a non-profit volunteer organization committed to searching for missing people. Ryan's body was recovered from a lake near where he was last seen just after 6:45 a.m.

Boy seen on security cameras in neighborhood
KTRK reported that his mother, Ademorowa Oladeinde, reviewed home security footage, which captured the moment Ryan left the residence early Saturday morning at about 5:45 a.m.
According to the report, Oladeinde found Ryan's shoes on the street.
About 30 minutes after leaving the house, Ryan was also caught on the neighbor's camera.
Authorities plan to evaluate other footage in the community to gain more insight into what happened.
Cpt. Dalia Simons told the outlet that there's no evidence so far that points to foul play. It's unclear how he ended up in the water.
Similar cases in North Carolina, Florida
Last week, North Carolina authorities said an autistic and nonverbal boy, Zachariah William Walker, was found dead in a pond near his home in Ronda after he was reported missing by his family.
Earlier this month, a 5-year-old boy was rescued from a pond after he escaped from his home in Deltona, Florida, setting off the alarm system. His father informed law enforcement that the child, who has autism, is "attracted to water," leading deputies to look for him at bodies of water in the area.
