Baby pygmy hippo is new viral sensation in TikTok videos: Meet the cute and bouncy Moo Deng

Viral sensation Moo Deng, the baby pygmy hippopotamus is drawing fans from all over the world as the new celebrity face of the Khao Kheow Open Zoo in eastern Thailand.

The young hippo was born on June 10 with two other siblings named Pork Stew and Sweet Pork to parents Jona and Tony at the zoo in Chonburi.

She is also the granddaughter of 59 year old Malee, Thailand's oldest hippo.

Moo Deng's antics and adorable squishy-faced looks is capturing the hearts of fans through her daily TikTok videos.

But some of the attention has zoo keepers concerned for her safety.

In some of the videos posted on social media, visitors can be seen pouring water on Moo Deng while she is sleeping to get her attention.

Others have thrown fruits, shellfish and yelled to get the little hippo's attention.

Pygmy hippos are a small breed of hippopotamus that are native tot he forests and swamps of West Africa. They are known to be reclusive and nocturnal. Adults stand at about two and half to three feet high at the shoulder and a little over five feet long and weighing between 400-600 pounds.

Moo Deng translates to "bouncy pig."
