Long before making a White House sequel, now two-time President-elect Donald Trump made an appearance in another blockbuster follow-up.

It’s that time of the year when the Macaulay Culkin Home Alone series gets air time.

And, yes, that is soon-to-be President Trump appearing alongside Macaulay Kulkin in “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.”

But in one market in particular, if you didn't catch the original release and early reruns of "Home Alone 2," chances are you may never see Trump's cameo.

Here's more about Trump's cameo and why his scene has become so controversial.

Was Donald Trump in Home Alone?

In the theatrical release and televised reruns, Donald Trump had a guest appearance in “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.”

Trump, then 46, makes a brief cameo as himself when Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, gets lost in the Plaza Hotel.

As Kevin enters the grand lobby, he stops to ask Trump, now 78, for directions.

Trump, who owned the Plaza Hotel at the time, casually points Kevin down the hall without much reaction. The scene is quick — roughly six or seven seconds — and Trump only spoke one line. Still, it became one of the most talked-about moments in the movie.

What did Trump say in Home Alone?

Donald Trump portrays himself — the owner of Trump Plaza Hotel — in "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.”

When Macaulay Kulkin’s Kevin McCallister stops the real estate mogul to ask for directions, the not-yet-president responds, “down the hall and to the left.”

Rumors have persisted that Trump essentially forced the producers to cast him in the movie if they wanted to use and film in the Trump Plaza Hotel.

Trump shot back at the bullying allegation in 2023.

At that time, Trump addressed his blink-and-you'll-miss-it role in the 1992 comedy in a lengthy post on Truth Social, his social-media platform.

“Director Chris Columbus, and others, were begging me to make a cameo appearance in ‘Home Alone 2,’ ” Trump wrote. “They rented the Plaza Hotel in New York, which I owned at the time. I was very busy, and didn’t want to do it. They were very nice, but above all, persistent. I agreed, and the rest is history!"

Who took Donald Trump out of Home Alone

Donald Trump's cameo in "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" has stood untouched until the Canadian Broadcasting Company decided to edit out Trump's appearance in 2014.

CBC said it edited out Trump's cameo to fit the movie in the available time slot.

Trump seems to have brushed off the edit, and has often joked about it.

Macaulay Culkin was in favor of Trump's cameo being edited out for political reasons, but it looks like the cut only applied to CBC broadcasts.

Reruns of "Home Alone 2" in the American market still include Donald Trump's cameo.
