Amazon’s huge annual summer sale slashes prices on a wide variety of items, from clothes and accessories to crafting tools, home decor and electronics. And Prime Day 2025 will last for two days longer than it has in past years.
Here’s when Prime Day 2025 is, what it is and how long it lasts.
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is an online shopping event for Amazon Prime members that the company started in 2015, to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Prime Day has since exploded in popularity and will include four days of deals this year. It started as just one day and expanded into a 24-hour sale in 2017 and a 36-hour sale in 2018.
While not every item on Amazon’s platform is eligible for Prime Day deals, Prime members can find deals on a wide array of brands and products. To participate in most of Amazon’s Prime Day deals, you need to have an Amazon Prime account.

How much does a Prime membership cost? See discount options
A standard Prime membership costs $14.99 per month or $139 for a one-year subscription.
There are also two discounted membership options:
- Prime for Young Adults membership: This new membership option is for 18 to 24-year-olds and has a six-month free trial. After that, the account costs $7.49 per month.
- Prime for people with government assistance: Customers who qualify for government assistance can receive a 50% discount to be a Prime member for only $6.99 monthly.
When do Amazon Prime Day deals end? How long Prime Day 2025 deals last
Amazon Prime Day started as a single day in July 2015 and has since grown into an annual multi-day shopping event for Prime members. This year is the first time the promotion will last for four days.
Amazon Prime Day 2025 deals will begin on Tuesday, July 8, and end on Friday, July 11.
Is everything on Amazon on sale during Prime Day?
Not everything on Amazon is on sale for Prime Day. The annual discount days have discounts for Prime members across almost every product category, but it isn’t a site-wide sale.
Early Amazon Prime Day deals 2025
The Amazon Prime Day deals had not been announced as of July 1.
The 2025 Prime Day dates were released on June 17, with early deals to shop. Official Prime Day deals will go live starting on July 8 at 3 a.m. ET.
You can expect a number of electronics, kitchen gadgets and more to get slashed prices during the four-day event.
Here are a few of the best early deals available:
- Kitchen and cooking: Find deals on cookware and kitchen appliance deals from Le Creuset, Our Place and more. There are also tons of hostess essentials like cute charcuterie boards, serving trays and more to help you prep for your summer entertaining.
- Home improvement: Check out these deals on tools from DeWalt, Fanttik and more.
- Garden and outdoor: Score big on finds for your backyard like the Flexzilla Garden Hose, this set of durable garden tools, viral picks like the Grampa's Weeder tool and more.
- Smart home tech and electronics: There are deals already available on Beats headphones and outdoor security cameras, portable outdoor speakers and new Amazon devices for your smart home.
