The post did not come from Harris. It doesn't appear on her verified social media accounts, and there are no credible reports of her making such a statement. A spokesperson for Harris' campaign said the post is not legitimate.
Supposed Harris X post about Trump and Epstein 'obviously fake'
The X post in the screenshot is from an account called @KamalarHarris, which is not one of Harris' verified accounts. Those are @KamalaHarris, her personal account, and @VP, her vice presidential account.
Harris campaign spokesperson Ammar Moussa told Paste BN the post attributed to Harris is "obviously fake." The account that shared the post has since been restricted.
Epstein is not mentioned in any of Harris' posts on her personal account. Two posts on Harris' vice presidential account – formerly her Senate account – mention Epstein. However, they're both more than five years old, posted days after Epstein was arrested July 6, 2019, for allegedly trafficking minors. Harris' posts urged top Justice Department officials to recuse themselves from matters involving Epstein, who was found dead in his jail cell about a month later.
Fact check: Kamala Harris with Jeffrey Epstein? No, images are altered
While former President Donald Trump is mentioned in court documents related to Epstein, he hasn't been accused of wrongdoing. Trump has acknowledged he and Epstein were in the same Palm Beach social circle decades ago, but their relationship appeared to have ended by the time Epstein’s legal troubles began, The Washington Post reported.
The social media user who shared the post could not be reached for comment.
PolitiFact also debunked the claim.
