The claim: Video shows Dallas tornado footage from 2024
A Nov. 20 Instagram video (direct link, archive link) shows a montage of large and destructive tornadoes.
"Tornado Dallas USA 2024," reads text superimposed over the video, which garnered more than 80,000 likes in less than a week.

No tornadoes had been documented in Dallas in 2024 as of the date the video was posted, according to a local meteorologist. The video includes clips that are old, digitally created, or from other places.
No tornadoes in Dallas so far in 2024
Matt Stalley, a Dallas area National Weather Service meteorologist, told Paste BN that, as of Nov. 22, there have been no tornadoes documented in Dallas County or within Dallas City limits in 2024.
The footage in the post includes a clip that appears to be digitally created, Manda Chasteen, an atmospheric scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, previously told Paste BN. The tornado in the video is not rotating normally for a large twister in the northern hemisphere and it doesn't appear to be realistically interacting with its surroundings, she said.
The clip also matches storm footage uploaded to YouTube in 2016 that does not include the tornado. Paste BN previously debunked the clip when it was attributed to Hurricane Milton.

The video also shows a clip of a 2016 tornado in Colorado and a clip of a storm in Arkansas that was uploaded to YouTube in 2020.
