Plumber tracks down owner of long-lost ring

MANSFIELD, OH -- Cherie Kissiar remembers wearing her 1991 Mansfield Senior class ring while taking care of her dying mother.
The ring was one of the last items her mother bought Kissiar before losing her battle with breast cancer. It had been missing since 1991.
"I never, ever thought in a million years that I would get it back," Kissiar said.
She did, thanks to Mr. Rooter Plumbing local owner Trent Dawson. He said he found the ring in 2010, "cleaned it up and threw it in my jewelry box."
Dawson and his team have recovered four class rings in the last few years. Through social media, they were able to track down three of the owners.
Dawson said Kissiar's ring was his favorite recovery because of the backstory. Kissiar slipped the garnet ring on her pinkie finger, then said she would have to get it sized.
Kissiar began to tear up as she reflected on what the ring meant to her. Dawson did the same, leading to a warm embrace between the two.
"It's got a lot of sentimental value," Kissiar said.
She got the ring back on Mother's Day.
