KITTY HAWK, NC - Kingston Haynes, 8, knows just how far a hug can go. Inspired by his church’s bible school, Kingston decided there should be a way to send free hugs around the world.

“I wanted to do this because I wanted to make the world a better place,” said Kingston. With the help of his family, Kingston creates his huggable stuffed monsters, lovingly deemed Kingston’s Kreatures. Rendy King, Kingston’s grandmother, brings her grandson’s creations to life with her sewing machine, while he hand picks his monsters’ unique designs and stuffs each and every one.

Recipients range from children in cancer treatment to a boys’ soccer team coping with the loss of a teammate to children with cerebral palsy. So far, Kingston and his family have made more than 400 lovable monsters, and have no plans to stop stuffing anytime soon.
