Woman with Down syndrome has sweet reaction to her boyfriend's gift

CINNAMINSON, NJ - Ashley Greenhalgh, 21, had a birthday she will never forget. Her friends and family members gathered to celebrate her birthday and recent graduation. Her boyfriend had a special surprise.
Ashley's boyfriend, Danny Griffiths, was standing next to her as she opened a series of gifts; two cards, a teddy bear, and a small box. Her sister recorded video as she opened each gift. "Danny!" Ashley squealed with excitement.
Both Ashley and Danny have Down syndrome. The couple has been dating for two years. "Not only do they both share an unconditional love for one another, they show a genuine appreciation for life on a daily basis," Ashley's sister Courtney wrote in a Facebook post.
She wrote that Griffiths wanted to do something special for Ashley, to show that even though it's too early for them to think about marriage now, he's fully committed to her and their relationship.
Ashley opened the final gift, this one from the tiny box. "A ring!" she excitedly announced to her family. Danny smiled from ear to ear. He'd saved money from his job to buy his girlfriend a diamond promise ring.
Video of the surprise gift has gotten thousands of views online, with many people sharing their love for the couple, and the sweet surprise.
