Prosthetic leg gives abused dog second chance at life
Hudson now has the freedom to move around again, thanks to an orthotist who makes prosthetic limbs.
HUMANKIND
CHANTILLY, VA - An orthotist is custom-making prosthetic limbs for injured animals, giving them a chance to move on all fours again.
Derrick Campana makes everything from prosthetic beaks to paws at his animal rehabilitation facility in Virginia.
One of his most well-known patients is Hudson, a pit bull who was nailed down to train tracks as a puppy. Hudson's paw had to be amputated due to severe abuse, but a prosthetic paw from Campana has now given Hudson the chance to serve others as a therapy dog.
