Packages delivered the week before Christmas: 34 million, according to UPS spokesman Dan McMackin.
Average amount Americans plan to spend on gifts: $704, according to Gallup.
Amount of snow that makes for a "white" Christmas: One inch, the National Weather Service reports.
Record number of Christmas lights on a house: 502,165 LED lights strung at a place in Australia, according to Guinness World Records.
Number of Americans planning to go caroling: 16% to sing those cheerful Christmas songs, according to Pew Research Center.
Americans planning to put up a Christmas tree: 8 out of 10 adults, the Pew study found.
Shoppers buying at least one gift card: 80%, according to the National Retail Federation. The trade association also predicted Americans would spend $161.16 on average on gift cards this year.
Americans making holiday trips of at least 50 miles between Dec. 22 and Jan. 1: 93.3 million Americans, according to AAA. Ninety percent of travelers say they'll drive.
Estimated national price of gas during the holiday: $3.30 per gallon, according to AAA.
Average spent to rent a car this holiday season: $55 a day, AAA projects.
Expected number to fly: 42 million passengers from Dec. 17 through Jan. 6., according to the U.S airline industry.
