A new $38 million glass floor, located high above ground, is giving tourists at the Eiffel Tower butterflies as the landmark celebrates its 125th anniversary. (Oct. 7)

Vive la France! As the Eiffel Tower celebrates its 125th anniversary, it debuted a new glass floor for tourists on the first level on Oct. 6. The cost: $38 million.
The 1,063-foot tower's last transformation of the first floor happened 30 years ago.
Architects Moatti-Rivière won the design-construction contract.
