Pistorius faces 5 years in jail for girlfriend's death
Oscar Pistorius has been sentenced to five years in prison for killing girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. South African Judge Thokozile Masipa delivered the ruling on Tuesday, with the double-amputee Olympic runner in court.

Oscar Pistorius was given a five-year prison sentence Tuesday for the Feb. 14 killing last year of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
Pistorius said the shooting was accidental. Culpable homicide is comparable to manslaughter. He was acquitted of murder.
Reaction on social media to the ruling on the South African athlete has been largely negative.

Hashtag #ThingsLongerThanOscarsSentence also elicited some interesting, sarcastic responses.
But not everyone was unsympathetic to his sentence.
