No joke: Jon Stewart voted in the election
Comedian Jon Stewart said he did vote in Tuesday's midterm election, despite a joke he made earlier in an interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour.
Amanpour asked Stewart if he had voted and he said, "No."
"I don't even know where my thing is now," Stewart said, referring to his polling station.
Stewart clarified the comment was a joke on his comedy program The Daily Show.
"I did vote today. I did know where my booth was. I was being flip," he said.
"I want to apologize. It sent a message that I didn't think voting was important or that I didn't think it was a big issue. And I do."
