Cronut chef makes swoon-worthy gingerbread croissants

Pastry chef Dominique Ansel, whose covetable treats are only available at his New York bakery (and often after waiting in a long line) made a gingerbread croissant because he knows you'll swoon over it.

The flaky pastry, available seasonally at Dominique Ansel bakery, is filled with gingerbread spiced frangipane and caramel coulant, then topped with caramelized pecans, star-shaped marshmallows and powdered sugar, his publicist tells Paste BN.

The site reports the seasonal treats have been selling out by early afternoon, and are only available through the holiday season.

What's next from the baker? His publicist hints that he's designing "something really neat with cookie dough," but sweet lovers will have to wait until after Thanksgiving to find out the surprise.
