Change of plans: 'Ugly' Christmas tree stays

Charlie Brown may not agree but some residents of Reading, Pa., have deemed this Christmas tree "ugly."

Is it the lighted pretzel tree-topper that did it? No, that's just a nod to Reading's bakeries.

However, city council President Francis Acosta said Monday at a news conference that instead of getting rid of the 50-foot spruce as originally planned, they will keep it, reports WFMZ-TV.

The tree has since been stripped of lights however after passionate pleas were made for it to stay, a fund was set up to buy new decorations.

A second tree from a farm in Cumru Township, Pa. will be placed at City Park, according to WFMZ-TV.
