Thousands gathered to watch the annual tree lighting in Rockefeller Center Wednesday evening, despite big protests in the wake of the grand jury decision in the Eric Garner case.
The 85-foot-tall Christmas tree includes 45,000 LED lights. And people listened to performances by Mariah Carey and Cyndi Lauper.
