What are the worst holiday gifts to give?
Americans say giving wine is a far better way to say 'happy holidays' than dishing out the hard liquor.
In a recent survey, Consumer Reports quantified the common complaints of gift giving. People were asked which gifts they considered "undesirable."
If booze is your go-to gift to give, you might want to think a bit harder about how you decide to say thanks to loved ones.
One in four Americans surveyed said it's the least desirable gift to receive.
Wine however fared better. Only 6% said they wouldn't want to receive a bottle as a gift.
The top ten worst gifts include:
•Spirits (whiskey, rum, vodka, brandy, etc.) -- 25%
•Flowers/plants -- 23%
•Home decor (frames, candles) -- 13%
•Books -- 8%
•Kitchen items -- 7%
•Clothes -- 6%
•Wine -- 6%
•Food -- 5%
•Clothing accessories (socks, scarves, etc.) -- 3%
•Gift cards -- 3%
