Marijuana dispensary pulls pot-smoking Santa art

When you think of Santa, you probably see him holding a plate of cookies and drinking a glass of milk, not smoking a joint.

A California medical marijuana dispensary, however, seems to see Santa as a pretty laid-back guy. At least, it found itself in hot water this week after painting Santa on its store front holding a bong and smoking weed.

The Harbor House of Dank in San Pedro, Calif., hired an artist to paint both Santa smoking a joint and a snowman holding a prescription pill bottle, according to NBC 4 Southern California.

Residents were less than impressed with Kris Kringle's new lifestyle choice.

"What do you tell your kids about that?" Tony Apodaca asked NBC. "I was shocked when I drove by in the morning knowing there's a junior high school a block away."

The store's owners had the images scraped off the windows Tuesday after hundreds of people expressed their outrage on a closed "Coastal San Pedro Neighborhood Watch" Facebook page, NBC reports.

The 24-hour medical marijuana dispensary seems to be taking advantage of the publicity. The store posted a photo on Instagram Thursday encouraging people to come visit.
