Zoo: Name a hissing cockroach after your ex

Nothing says love like naming a hissing cockroach after someone.

This Valentine's Day the Bronx Zoo is giving jaded ex-lovers and hopeless romantics alike the opportunity to name one of the zoo's Madagascar hissing cockroaches.

The roach-naming program, coined "Seal It With a Hiss," is promoted on the zoo's website with a glamour shot of one of the roaches atop a bed of rose petals. "Tens of thousands of these hissing cockroaches remain nameless," the website says,

The naming program began in 2011 and is back by popular demand.

Each lucky recipient is e-mailed a certificate. According to the website, the $10 donation goes to helping the zoo "protect species big and small, beautiful and damned."
