This week the San Diego Zoo welcomed a new addition with the birth of an adorable baby hippopotamus.
In a YouTube video published on March 24 the baby and mother hippo, known as Funani, splashed around in the water, with mom helping the calf get accustomed to its new digs.
The non-profit wildlife sanctuary said "that Funani and her calf are doing well."
Hippo calves nurse for roughly eight months, so the mom and calf will be close during that time, according to the zoo.
Staff have yet to determine whether the calf, the fifth born to Funani at the zoo, is male or female.
