Police: Man stabbed over 40-ounce beer
An argument over a missing 40-ounce beer ended with one man stabbed and another in jail, according to Tennessee Metro police.
The stabbing victim told police he was drinking at an apartment with Virgil G. Sexton when he left the room and came back to find his beer missing, according to a Davidson County affidavit.
The victim confronted Sexton about the missing beverage and they began to fight. The victim, who ran from the room, told police that Sexton pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed him in his left side, the affidavit said.
Police arrested Sexton, 47, on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge, according to the affidavit. Sexton was booked into Metro Jail early Saturday and is being held on a $30,000 bond.
Sexton would not say that a knife was involved in the fight, but officers collected a pocket knife and bloody blue jeans, the affidavit said.
