Alligator spotted crossing N.Y. street dies
You never know what you'll see in the Big Apple.
New York City Police found a 3-foot-long alligator on a city street Thursday and took him to Animal Care and Control. The ACC sought placement for the alligator with a wildlife rehabilitator, but the animal died at the center Friday.
"Sadly the alligator, which staff had named CockadoodleQ, died this morning. We have no knowledge of the conditions CockadoodleQ had lived in prior to his arrival that contributed to his death. Exotic animals such as alligators are illegal to have as pets in New York City," the ACC told Paste BN Network in a statement.
The alligator was spotted in Inwood crossing Ninth Street at W. 205 Street, according to a tweet from the NYPD.
