Watch: Farmer uses drone to catch fish

It may not have been the biggest fish in the pond, but a Kansas farmer came up with a creative way to catch it earlier this week.

Derek Klingenberg attached a line and hook to a drone and hovered above a pond on his Peabody, Kan., farm on Monday.

Klingenberg told Paste BN Network it took nearly 10 minutes before a fish finally took the bait.

"When you fish you have to yank up and snag them, so I tried to do that with the drone, and it was touchy but finally pulled one up," he said.

Klingenberg said he purchased a Phantom drone a year ago and has been taking videos ever since.

"I made a video where I fed the cattle on the ground, and it made a smiley face from above, and I've also used the drone to count cattle," Klingenberg said.

After shooting the video, Klingenberg uploaded a clip to YouTube with the title "I caught a fish with my drone." As of Wednesday, the video had almost 300,000 views.

The clip ends with the farmer posing for a selfie with his trophy.
