DENVER — Hannah McCullough is a tough girl who has a great smile.

A day after some surgical procedures, the 7-week-old girl flashed a smile for her mom's camera. The smile greatly comforted her mother, Amber McCullough.

McCullough posted a photo of Hannah on her GoFundMe page with the caption: "Look who is smiling again already!"

Hannah was born at 32-weeks gestation on Aug. 26 with her conjoined twin sister at Children's Hospital Colorado. Her twin, Olivia, did not survive because of development problems with her heart.

Hannah has been living in the intensive care unit at the Colorado Fetal Care Center since birth.

McCullough said things had been going smoothly for her daughter until last week when Hannah developed an infection that caused breathing problems.

McCullough said Tuesday's procedures addressed that, plus doctors attended to some other issues.

McCullough said the continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) device that had been over the baby's nose to help her breathe was removed Wednesday morning.

Hannah is back to wearing a nasal oxygen cannula, which Mom said is "much more comfortable."
