'American Sniper' widow beats NRA champ in shooting competition
PFLUGERVILLE, Texas – Taya Kyle, the widow of American Sniper Chris Kyle, has some shooting skills of her own.
Kyle defeated National Rifle Association World Shooting Champion Bruce Piatt in the American Sniper Shootout in Pflugerville over the weekend.
She hit 100% of her shots using a TrackingPoint precision-guided firearm.
Piatt hit 59% of his shots using the same weapons our troops use in combat.
"I am passionate about getting the TrackingPoint guns into our warrior's hands," Taya Kyle said after the competition. "They are willing to give their lives for us. The least we can do is give them our very best in that fight."
The competition was a challenging real-war scenario with explosions, simulated fire and other battle stressors.
The event raised money for the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation.
