ROCKFORD, Mich. -- Christmas came early for two Michigan children who received an unforgettable surprise at school on Friday.
Elise Kurek has been gone for seven months while training for a medical career in the Army. Her family planned to pick her up at the airport on Friday, but she decided to take things into her own hands.
She surprised her two children early, in the middle of a Valley View Elementary School assembly. She told WZZM-TV that she wasn't aware she would have such a large audience for the homecoming.
“I was expecting to see my kids and pull them out of school, but this was way more than I expected," she said.
Elise will be home for the next two weeks.
