Send coal to your frenemies this Christmas

Chances are you know someone who deserves a large lump of coal this year.

Your ex? Perhaps your boss? Or your next door neighbor?

For $20, Naughty Coal will send a lump of coal and a custom note "from Santa" to someone on your naughty list. That’s right, it’s anonymous.

The coal is packaged in “a jolly red velvet pouch for protection and safe keeping,” according to the website.

The company is just one of many touting coal as the "it" gag gift this Christmas.

SendCoal.org will send the lucky person of your choice a piece of coal "between the size of a golf ball and a baseball" for $15.  On Etsy.com, retailers are offering a plethora of coal stocking stuffers ranging from edible coal-shaped cookies to "Lump of Coal soaps."

And coal appears to be a gift-giving favorite on social media. Many have shared photos of the coal they've received or are giving this year.

Let them eat coal!
