Fiery plunge off I-10 kills 4
PHOENIX — Four people died in a fiery crash Wednesday night after their vehicle drove off an Interstate 10 overpass and fell to the freeway below, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
A tarp was covering the burnt-out wreckage. The vehicle was in an HOV lane near 79th Avenue when it drove through the barricade and fell onto a landscaped area next to the roadway, said Raul Garcia, a DPS spokesman.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said in a tweet that the freeway had been reopened at 75th Avenue.
