After further review, offer to sell home no 'Super' deal

ERIE, Colo. — Brian Lusk’s phone has been ringing off the hook the past few days with people interested in his house. There’s one problem: He isn’t selling it.

The phone calls come from an ad posted in newspapers in Denver, Broomfield and Longmont. The ad claims a 2,100-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Erie is for sale by owner.

“Getting divorced: leaving her with nothing,” the ad reads. “Will sell home for 2 tickets to the Super Bowl with airfare and lodging.”

The Denver Broncos will be playing the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, Calif.

The ad goes on to list Lusk’s number and shows a picture of his home. It didn’t take him long to put the pieces together.

“I have a buddy who’s a good Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and we had some bets going for the Steelers game, and of course the Broncos won so I rode him pretty hard for two or three days and gave him a lot of heck,” Lusk said.

Lusk is not getting divorced, his wife confirms.

And he is not selling his house. He moved in with his wife and children about six months ago.

“The house is worth a little more than just tickets,” he said.

Lusk has received a number of phone calls asking if the ad was serious. He also has had a lot of interest.

One man called saying the house would be perfect for his daughter and her new husband. He offered Lusk two tickets on the 45 yard line, 20 rows back along with first class airfare and a suite at a hotel.

Lusk shared his story in hopes that people will stop calling him.
