Stuck on what cocktail to make this Valentine’s Day for someone special? Washington D.C.’s Compass Rose bartender Janelle Whisenant has you covered.

Whisenant recommends a 'Like Water for Chocolate,' her drink inspired by the film of the same name and a recent trip to Mexico.

Tequila sets the tone for this adventurous drink, but cold brew coffee, an egg white and a hint of cocoa are sure to surprise and delight your adventurous Valentine. Make sure to serve this one on ice for best results.

Here's what you need to make your own:

  • 1 oz reposado tequila
  • 1 oz cold brew coffee
  • .5 oz Carpano Antica vermouth
  • .5 oz cream
  • .25 oz green Chartreuse
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 dashes mole bitters
  • Orange wheel garnish

Shake with ice and strain, then shake once more without ice to create foam. Serve over ice and garnish with an orange wheel.
