Mississippi family's dog brings home bag of marijuana

JACKSON, Miss. — A Mississippi family's dog brought home something unexpected — a large bag of marijuana.

On Saturday, the Jones County Sheriff's Narcotics Division was dispatched to a Jones County, Miss., home, according to a Jones County Sheriff's Office news release.

The homeowner said his dog came home with a bag that he initially thought was garbage. But upon closer inspection suspected the contents of the bag was marijuana. Authorities recovered about a pound of marijuana.

The case is under investigation, according to the news release.
