Firefighters rescue ducklings in sweet video

LOVELAND, Texas - A Loveland man captured sweet video of firefighters rescuing a hoard of ducklings as the dutiful duck mom kept watch on Sunday.

The Loveland Fire Rescue Authority received a call about ducklings trapped in a storm drain on Sunday, Battalion Chief Michael Cerovski, said in a statement.

Because it was a particularly slow day,  they decided to take the call, according to Cerovski. Luckily, Loveland resident Don Oft was able to capture the harrowing rescue on video.

In the video, the parental duck bravely stood by while firefighters – and even a dog – surrounded the drain cover.

“The mama ducks and papa ducks are usually patient because they know we’re there to give them a hand,” Cerovski said. “But I don’t know. I don’t speak duck.”
