Infant bike helmets sold by Target recalled
More than 129,000 infant bicycle helmets have been recalled because of choking and magnetic ingestion hazards.
The recall involves Pacific Cycle's "no pinch buckle" helmets sold exclusively at Target. They were sold from January 2014 through April 2016 for $18 to $25.
The company has already received three reports of the plastic covers coming loose, but no injuries have been reported, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The helmets, made for children 1 to 3 years old, contain straps in various colors and design patterns, according to the recall. The buckles have small plastic covers and enclosed magnets. “SCHWINN” is printed on the front of the helmets. Only helmets with the magnetic no-pinch chin strap buckles are affected by the recall, the recall reads.
