Mom hid missing 10-year-old daughter from police

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Sacramento Police spent more than 10 hours searching for a missing 10-year-old that they say was safe all along.
"We're just happy as can be that she's OK because this call concerned me greatly," Sacramento Police Sgt. Matt Armstrong said.
Laprea Lee was last seen at her home around noon Tuesday morning along 58th Avenue, near Pony Express Elementary School, in Sacramento.
Her mother told police the girl's grandfather was dropping her off, but when she got home, her daughter wasn't there.
In fact, Laprea was with a family member all along. According to police, the girl's mom lied to get Laprea's estranged father in trouble.
Sacramento Police used multiple resources to try and find the missing girl.
"It's very frustrating," Sgt. Armstrong said. "We've been out here for over 10 hours and we're tired and we're exhausted."
Laprea's mom has been booked on charges for reporting a false emergency and for depriving custody to the father, Sacramento Police said.
