Dad slain outside barber shop with young son inside
A Massachusetts man was fatally shot outside a barbershop while his four-year-old son was inside on Tuesday, according to local authorities.
The victim, identified as Marcus Hall, 31, was shot six times a few minutes after noon outside “Hair It Is” in Mattapan, Mass., according to Boston Police, WBZ reported. Boston Police Chief Willie Gross told the news outlet it’s likely the victim knew the person who shot him.
“It’s a very active homicide investigation in which our officers are canvassing the scene and looking for any and all witnesses,” Gross told WBZ.
Police said Hall arrived at the shop with his son, when he was approached by an unnamed man, WCVB-TV reported. Hall left the building with the man and was shot six times.
Hall’s child's mother, Shiaka McIntosh, said she does not know if her son witnessed his father's death.
“All my son said is, ‘I don’t want daddy to die,’” McIntosh told WCVB-TV.
She noted that Hall was an exceptional father.
“We don’t even see a lot of black men with their kids, and this man was with his child,” she said.
Police are searching for the killer.
